I found some good teaching material on the internet. Google “Ferd’nand”.These are wordless cartoons. I have the students describe the situation trying to use all the important structures. Then I have the students role play the situation. I’ve had a lot of success with this. It’s the fastest way I’ve seen to give them a good command of important structures. This is good material for language exchanges too. It’s good for any language.

Some dumbing-down has happened with Langenscheidt, but it has not gotten too far. It is still a great text, as the professor says.
