The best way to learn a language is actively– with other live human beings.

I couldn’t recall what tape is best but I am sure there are many in the stores.

    Hi,
I have to agree with Karl – Michel Thomas is great! The course I’m using for French is the basic 8-hour CD version, and there’s no “homework” (memorising, reading, grammar “exercises”). By the end of it, you can have a pretty good conversation, and feel as if you have achieved something. However, his courses can be quite expensive (it was £70 when I got mine), so you might want to try borrowing it or looking on eBay first…
    Hope this helps :-)
